Thermodynamics of Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids for Inhibiting the Spontaneous Combustion of Sulfide Ore

Spontaneous combustion of sulfide ore is one the most common disasters in process mining, storage, and transportation, which can lead to a series safety environmental problems, thus affecting sustainable development society. In this paper, four imidazolium-based ionic liquids: [BMIM][I], [BMIM][BF4], [EMIM][BF4], [BMIM][NO3], were selected for inhibition experiments with ores reveal performance liquids against spontaneous combustion. The results show that main products from reaction Fe2O3 SO2, produced during oxidation moves towards higher temperature under action liquid, indicating have significant effect on ore. At same temperature, apparent activation energies samples treated all greater than those control samples, effectively reduce tendency ores. addition, compared other liquids, [BMIM][NO3] had more pronounced effect, both maximally increased by 8.4% 10.2% after treatment.
